Introduction to My Research Area

My area of research is that of my own backyard garden. It is a small garden with a few plant and flower species. It is located on the roadside of my house. Interestingly, the garden is looked after by my mother, who has a deep love for flowers. It is located in Camp-Ithier which is a small village in the district of Flacq, in the paradise island of Mauritius. I am residing in my home country for a long time now as a result of coronavirus. The garden houses daily-use plants such as mint and chives. It also englobes various types of flowers which add to the beauty of my backyard. I visited the research area for my first blog on 11th of December 2021 at 12 30 sharp. The weather was brightly sunny and it was hot such that the summer season prevailed. The thermometer indicated 29.0 degrees celsius approximately. I have shortlisted 3 questions that I think could form the subject of my project:

  1. How does the type of leaves differ among the 5 different flower species?
  2. How does the growth of chives (in shade) differ from that of mint (sunlight)?
  3. How does blooming of flowers in the soil differ from that in pots?
