Plants of Coastal British Columbia

The source that I chose is something that has been heavily relied upon throughout my environmental technology program, the Plants of coastal British Columbia identification book from Lone Pine Publishing. It includes many of the local native and invasive plant species that are found in here on Vancouver Island. Although this book is essential for my program, it is a piece of academic material that is not peer-reviewed. This book is not published from a university so is most likely not peer-reviewed and I was unable to find any information on it being so. It is however written by experts and published in conjunction with the BC Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations. It was funded by this ministry in partnership with the Federal Government of Canada as well. It is written by experts in the field mainly Jim Pojar and Andy MacKinnon who are both B.C. Forest Service researchers with MacKinnon being a Victoria BC local. I have provided the author page with their accreditations as support to my classification.
