On April 24, 2022 I went back to Mosquito Creek Park for further sampling. I sampled 15 additional plots, 5 additional replicates done in each area. This means that 10 samples were done in each location in total, bringing my sample size to 30. The sampling was done at 12:35pm and the weather at this time was partly sunny and 12 degrees Celsius. So far I have not had any challenges or problems implementing my sampling design. Some patterns that I have noticed so far are that the flowers predominantly flourish in areas of higher sun exposure, which makes me reflect on my previous thoughts of how they were not as population dense in the middle of the trail. I thought this would be because the middle of the trail is at a slightly higher elevation and the presence of ferns is predominant, however I did not take into consideration the temperature changes that may occur in the middle of the trail where the area is more shady and slightly cooler. I will have to do more research on Vinca Minor to see if there is any supporting evidence or if this happens to be a coincidence.
