Data Collection

I went to the Blue Mountain Hill for the data collection on June 19 from 9:30am to 2:50pm in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was a Sunday and the temperature was 21 degrees. The number of Adiantum Pedatum and Humulus Japonicus at the low and high latitude was collected by a 1m × 1m quadrat for 5 times separately. The figures below show the number of two species in the quadrat.

Species 1st quadrat 2rd quadrat 3rd quadrat 4th quadrat 5th quadrat
Adiantum Pedatum 12 9 16 7 11
Humulus Japonicus 2 3 6 2 3

The coverage of the Adiantum Pedatum and Humulus Japonicus at different altitudes reversed. There were more Adiantum Pedatum at low altitude area than Humulus Japonicus, while the number of Humulus Japonicus was more than Adiantum Pedatum. The altitude can be the independent variable and the coverage of the species can be assumed to be reversed with altitude.
