The scope of relevant factors and their relevance to this small project have become more apparent as research has continued.
For example, although only studying the presence/absence of birds (point count) in an area, number of species were also observed and the presence of predators and food were also considered as factors. As the season changed, migration became a possible factor, as well as effect of temperature and competition on nesting availability/habits and niche competition. This scales to perspectives as broad as climate change and how changing temperatures might influence behaviour and species richness or threat in ecosystems small and large.
As may always be the way, more questions continued to arise as the project went on.
