Experimental design

Proceeding.with the plan to study height variation in the contorted-pod evening primrose.  The following are the hypothesis/prediction:

Hypothesis: The soil moisture and presence of other species of plants, around contorted-pod evening primrose, will affect its height of growth.

Prediction: The evening primrose grows to its best height where sufficient moisture is there, neither too wet nor too dry. The moisture of the sand is assessed by the distance from the water. The presence of other plant species might make it difficult for primrose to assess water due to competition around, which might lead to lower height of the primrose flowers when they are around other plant species and in either too wet or dry soil rather than minimal soil moisture.

Predictor variable: height of the flowering plant
