On going field observations

Continuing the observation made on contorted-pod evening primrose, I noticed the height differences among the flowers. Before proceeding with the study, I gathered further details about the basic general structure of the contorted evening primrose flower such that its average height is 5-15 cm tall. They are usually branched, and wiry and have hairs spreading and are usually coarse.

To study height variations of the contorted-pod evening primrose, I selected three regions; the one that is closest to the shore and is muddy, and the second area selected is a drier end of the shore whose sand is moist but not wet. The third area selected was the drier area where the least or no moisture is found.

I determined the moisture or the water absorption of the selected areas by selecting patches of those areas that suited best for my study and tested the areas by touching and digging at the ground level to check the moisture level by pressing the sand on my fingers to analyze of the moisture found in the land.  Though a better tool or an advanced device that would detect moisture exactly would have been better contributing to this study.
