There were no difficulties implementing my sampling strategy. I chose to use a simple random sample technique with random points of observation using quadrats. I divided each tree into 1 foot by 1 foot quadrats. The randomly chosen quadrats were observed for presence and species of bird for 10 minutes.
The data collected was not very surprising at all. As expected, there were more birds and diversity observed on the Mountain Ash Tree (fruit bearing) and the Lilac Tree (non-fruit bearing). I plan to continue collecting data using my approach.
