While organizing my data, the main issue I had was it being a tedious task. I realized that my excel skills are very rusty, and I ended up having to google a lot of shortcuts or just doing tasks manually. It makes me wish there was a mandatory class in university where you learned the ins and outs of excel.
In terms of data, the displayed trends are generally what I expected. Looking at the graph, I do wonder how the graph would differ if I was skilled in identifying birds by song. I predict that the Passeriformes would have a higher representation within the community structure. Further, if I went earlier in the morning when songbirds are most active, I suspect I would also have a higher concentration of Passeriformes. My ability and time of day were definitely limitations in my field project that I will be speaking of in my final report.
