My research project is based around investigating whether there is a relationship between the height of a snowberry bush and its berry load. I am interested in whether the taller bushes have more berries because they are less able to reproduce through “layering” because of their height (forming new roots from stems that droop over and touch wet soil). I sampled bushes near trails, off trails, and ones that were being actively trimmed. I would say that this research touches on the ecological concepts of: reproductive strategies, reproductive fitness, and anthropogenic influence.
Some key phrases I would suggest for an article:
Plant Reproductive Strategy
Forest/Trail Interface
Pacific Northwest
Urban Park
