After reading the feedback, I decided to go for more sample stations and reduce the days of observation to 1 day. As a result, I set up 10 sample stations based on the presence or absence of fruit/nut trees and observed them for 10 mins each, and recorded the squirrel activity level.
After collecting the data, I organized the data. I used Excel to generate a table and graph from the data. I noticed a trend with my data that the presence of fruit/nut trees does influence the activity level of increase meaning there was a greater squirrel activity observed in the presence of fruit/nut trees. The outcome aligns with my prediction.
However, I was expecting that I would not observe any squirrel activity in the absence of fruit/nut trees but that was not the case. I observed 1 squirrel activity in sample stations 4 and 10. There are chances that I observed 1 squirrel in those stations by chance when they were moving from one area to other. In addition to these, I think the weather played a major factor in obtaining the data as a result I observed good squirrel activity levels.
