Soil is the foundation…..

Have you had any problems implementing your sampling?
Well, after my first observations about birds in a wetland area, I decided to change my experiment to something that was less implicated by outside variables like cars, people and dogs. So I have changed it, to “Does construction near wetland areas create contamination, inhabiting vegetation species growth and diversity”. I understand that this may be difficult to compare areas prior to the start of construction, however I am sampling three locations that should show a decent representation. I feel much more confident that this experiment will give me more accurate results.

How many replicates did you sample?
So I have three sample sites, and on each site, there is ten strategic sampled areas (measured 1 meter by 1 meter). This gives a large area to work with, and allows for a thought out representation of these areas, that way it covers the full area being sampled.

Have you noticed any ancillary patterns that make you reflect on your hypothesis?

So far there has been an increase in diversity as we move away from the closest construction areas, which as expected. I will say that there is a lot more water present in location 3, which is the point farthest away from the construction site. Spring melt is happening, which has an effect on all areas being sampled, and this will truly show the impacts of construction run off on soil and vegetation growth.
