Blog post 8: tables and graphs

Did you have any difficulties organizing. aggregating or summarizing your data?

I had many data points to work with, so it took a while to input them into Excel. The process of creating the graphs was a bit confusing at first, but I eventually figured it out. In hindsight, I wish I had entered the data directly into the Excel spreadsheet instead of writing it down on paper first and then transferring it again. It would have saved me a lot of time and effort.

Was the outcome as you expected?

Yes! In my second field research submission, I made two predictions regarding the relationship between human activity, shade intensity, and Calyptocarpus abundance. Firstly, I hypothesized that an increase in human activity would lead to a decrease in Calyptocarpus abundance. Secondly, I anticipated that as shade intensity increased, there would be a corresponding increase in Calyptocarpus abundance. The figures presented in my submission, which included data collected from ten replicates, showed evidence in support of both predictions.

Did your data reveal anything unexpected or give you any ideas for further exploration?
