The place that I choose to observe is my backyard. The backyard is about 2000 square feet. Because this is a rental house, the backyard is not meticulously maintained. The main plant in our backyard is grass and one big tree. There are some other plants such as: Camellia, Iris, Forsythia, Lilac, Rhododendron. And some wild animals: squirrels, raccoons, deers, rabbits. Just planted some vegetables and fruits occasionally. Here are some details about my backyard.

Here are the three questions that I want to discover more:
- Would the plants in the pictures (strawberries, Chinese chives, kale) survive if I moved them to a different ecosystem?
- Do the time of day would change the animal and plant interactions? and Why?
- How do wild plants invade our backyard?
Hello thanks for the pics!
some great initial observations and questions
be sure and try and select a question that can be answered in the timeframe – so for example, moving strawberries might be a good one but they will have to be observed until established – what would mark their establishment period?
just a few thoughts off the top of my head
as you focus on identifying predictor and explanatory variables (what can be measured) this will become clearer
