I have completed collecting bird data for my research project. I had to adjust my original plan a little to make the collection feasible. The result being that of each of the four locations chosen being Grassy Area, Orchard, Meadow and Marshy area I went once a day in the early to mid-afternoon and sat at a point count station at each site and collected data for ten minutes. I did this for a total of 9 days and recorded the bird species I saw visually and were recognized by apps such as Merlin. I have noticed patterns of bird species at each location and a general preference to certain bird species frequenting certain areas. The temperature varied throughout the observational period but as I collected in each area once a day as opposed to two I am unable to make any inference on this. However, it seems clear that the environmental gradient is connected to birds found in certain areas which I would like to explore further.
