Blog Post 7: Theoretical Perspectives
My research primarily focuses on bird species present in varying topographical sites and therefore relates to trends in the occurrence of bird species within specific ecosystems. An underlying ecological process could be predation as well as competition. Both of which are present in the realm of birds, with large birds of prey frequently preying on smaller birds as food, and larger birds potentially out competing smaller opponents for resources. I would like to expand further on these ideas as my research project continues. Some key words include: birdwatching, competition, resource allocation, data collection, bird diversity.
