Document from “View Point” from 2003 American Chemical Society

https://pubs.acs.org/doi/pdf/10.1021/es0325720

To begin I examined whether the text had been written by an expert in the field which it had been. It was written by Nico Van Straalen who is a professor of animal ecology at The University of Amsterdam.

  • I then checked if it contained in text citations which it did.
  • I then checked if it contained a biography of all the sources used in the article, which it did.

This then resulted in the article being classified as academic material.

  • I then reviewed the article and found that it had 2 referees review the material before publication.
    • Kees van Gestel Professor of Ecotoxicology of Soil Ecosystems at the University of Amsterdam
    • Herman Eijsackers, Professor of Environment and Nature at the University of Leiden.
  • This document does not report the results of a field or lab study completed by the author and so this document would be classified as a Academic, peer-reviewed, review material.
