I have collected data for my two-point counts at each of the gradients (3 of them) and I have collected 3 replicates of each point count so far. I mentioned previously that it can be difficult to quickly move my focus toward the next point count. I also think it would be helpful to have more than one person observing point counts to ensure everything is reported properly.
Gradients 1 and 3, have shown lower amounts of killdeer populations compared to gradient 2, which is what I had expected. Gradient 1: includes road and culvert, which I expected would not be optimal for killdeer to be highly populated. Gradient 3 is dominated by grassland and did not expect a high population in this gradient either. Gradient 2, included a wetland area and this was the gradient I expected to have the highest population.
