Create a blog post discussing your table or graph. Did you have any difficulties organizing, aggregating or summarizing your data? Was the outcome as you expected? Did your data reveal anything unexpected or give you any ideas for further exploration?
To begin, my data is not a continuous variable. Each point is a discrete value and so I chose to represent my data on a scatter plot with no connecting lines. I wanted to have a figure that clearly showed the correlation between the number of lily of the valley plants per quadrat and the lbs of pine needles collected. Different than a table, with a figure you can then visualize the data and see patterns and correlations. The outcome was softly what I expected. It appears to be somewhat linear, but there are some data points that do not fit in with my hypothesis or prediction. This data presents that there is a need for further exploration because there are likely many variables influencing my data. This experiment would be best performed in a closed system where outside variables (moisture, sunlight, temperature, etc. ) can be controlled.
