What did I choose to observe

I visited Diana Lake Provincial Park to observe and it is a 233 hectares provincial park located 16 kilometres east of the city of Prince Rupert in the North Coast Regional District of British Columbia, Canada. The park was established by BC Parks in 1980.

This park offers a wide variety of water-oriented activities. Sunbathing, swimming and canoeing are popular activities at this lakefront park.

The park provides lake, lakeshore and forest recreation opportunities for local residents and travelers . Diana Lake is the primary freshwater recreation site in the region.

It also has a fascinating nature trail that winds through lush coastal rainforest. All five species of Pacific salmon, as well as steelhead, rainbow trout and dolly varden can be found in the lakes and creeks around this park. Observe spawning salmon in Diana Creek during August and September.

This park does not have access to drinkable water.

There are grassy areas and a covered picnic shelter for picnicking. The beach is sandy and rocky.

To preserve vegetation and ground cover, please don’t gather firewood from the park. Dead wood is an important habitat element for many plants and animals and it adds organic matter to the soil.

My  questions of observation are:

1) The effect of recreational activities on the ecosystem and natural pattern of communities. How do these activities affect the balance of nature?

2) bears, wolves, cougars, and other wild animals that call these places home are potentially dangerous.

  1. Hello an interesting area!
note that the second question isn’t a question, just a statement ; )
it might be difficult and a long process to prove that recreational activities impact all of nature.
as you go along, try and narrow down the predictor and response variables, like you are seeing in the readings you are doing
    thanks!
