I want to focus on the holdfasts of my algae. These are the root-like structures that allow algae to attach to surfaces such as rocks. I believe there must be a difference in holdfasts between my two algae. I think Chara may have stronger holdfasts that allow them to grow in areas of the river that have higher flow rates without being washed away. As well, I would like to look into dissolved gases in the creek. A higher flow rate may allow more gases to dissolve in the water which chara or spirogyria may need or not need to grow. My keywords would be algae growth, the effect of flow rate and freshwater aquatic ecosystem.
You can get very specific if you have the research to back it up but remember to start broad in your introduction perhaps more generally on algae growth in streams.
