Tables and Graphs

Creating a graph really brought more ideas on what I could of done differently in collecting my data and other things I can do to finish my research project. I definately could have done more sample sites to count the trees, I could have measured the exact distance from the river to each sample site, which is something I will still do for my final project. Creating a table really shows the information that I collected and it lets me know where my hypothesis stands. I was surprised that some of the quadrants contained a significant amount of poplar trees compared to others but were still the same distance from the river. The sizes of the trees showed that they were a lot older in the sample sizes with less trees. As I go through my data i am starting to question my hypothesis and I notice a lot more research needs to be done to really understand it. I notice that there are many other factors in the research, like soil content, that I should be researching as well. Also research like this needs more time to collect the samples to understand the growth rates of the poplar trees. So doing a research project through a couple years would allow for more data to be drawn out.

  1. Sounds like you have a good understanding of your data, I already commented on your graph/table in your small assignment so see those comments
