I plan to study Garry Oak trees and how elevation affects their height and distribution in Christmas Hill Sanctuary.

At lower elevations, I observed that Garry Oak trees were less bushy, taller and grow individually. As I moved up the hill, Garry Oak trees began to grow more often in clumps, and there was a mix of taller and shorter trees, all with varying bushiness. At higher elevations, almost all Garry Oak trees grew in clumps, were bushier and shorter in height.

Based on these observations, I predict that water availability influences the height and distribution of Garry Oak trees at different elevations.

The response variable would be the height of the Garry Oak trees and would be measured as a categorical variable. The predictor variable would be water availability and would be measured as a continuous variable.
