Post 2: Sources of scientific information

I’ve decided to allow my curiosity about invasive species to grow alongside the work on my plot study. Canada Geese (Branta Canadensis) although the name might suggest are not seasonally native to southern Vancouver Island in the winter time. Therefore these introduced populations have grown out of control.

A source I have landed on is “Community-Based Research of Population Movements of Introduced Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) in the Campbell River Estuary 2013-2016” an academic – non-peer-reviewed paper on the effects of the Canada goose population increase on a local waterway. The Author Cynthia Bendickson is a registered professional biologist with the College of biologists. With excellent data, observations and references, it seems well written and a source of reliable information.
