For my field study, I have chosen to use Counts as my unit of data collection. Unfortunately, due to the season, data has been significantly limited. Since it is winter, and bird and wildlife activity has decreased, this study will have less data than if it were conducted during the spring or summer months. In the warmer months, I would see a significant increase in the number of species, variation, richness and length of stay. I would also have the natural attraction of blooming plants, grasses, vegetables, fruit trees, etc. I will continue collecting replicates and note areas of difficulty.
Given the time of year, your focus for birds would be on resident or non-migratory species and generally winter wildlife activity which will be different than the summer. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘counts’, be more specific.
