I chose a field research question that I thought was simple and could be carried out with little difficulty. However, when it was time to collect the data, I had to alter the sampling strategy to accommodate the restrictions of staying close to the path. Furthermore, it was tricky choosing random quadrats within each transect due to physical limitations, such as thick bush. I’ve gained a new appreciation for ecologists, as I’ve come to realize how tedious and daunting field research can sometimes be.
