Continued Observations

I am using observation as my method of collecting data. As I’m reading other blog posts I see that several other people are doing a very similar experiment to see what species visit a specific space and abundance. I suppose this is normal considering the winter season and the readings up to this point in the course.

I have been surprised by the low variety of species I’m recording, but also aware that these are my residential species that stay here year round. I am considering altering my experiment by adding bird feeders with different food sources to see if that will make my results a little more interesting.

My area has an abundance of ravens, which are territorial and unhospitable to other species. Perhaps focussing on them specifically could provide interesting results?

I am considering other aspects but feel like I’m already committed to the experiment as laid out originally and the other ideas would be completely different experiments and not really an improvement to my existing study.

  1. Please submit your small assignments #1 and 2 before continuing on your blogs so I can provide feedback on your experimental design before you collect all of your data. It is not clear to me what data you are collecting, this post is very general.
