Source of Scientific Information: Emerald Ash Borer Study

The source of scientific information I have chosen is “Predicting Emerald Ash Borer Adult Emergence and Peak Flight Activity in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada”, found here (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fevo.2022.846144/full TRU account required). It falls into the category of academic material that is not peer-reviewed due to fulfilling all the requirements needed. Firstly it serves as academic material as all researchers who worked on the paper either had a master’s or were working towards a master’s degree in environmental sciences when the study was published. It included in-text citations and had a bibliography of sources at the end (albeit it was labeled “References” and not “Bibliography”). Whether it is peer-reviewed is unclear as it does not outright state reviewers in the acknowledgement, only that feedback was provided from Kerienne LaFrance and the Winnipeg Urban Forestry Branch. It still contains a methods and results section but due to the lack of stated reviewers it is relegated to the second category of non peer-reviewed academic material.
