Field Data Collection Summary
On May 8, 2024, I conducted field sampling at the South Side of Heart Lake Conservation Area. The goal was to investigate the relationship between the distance from the wetland and the abundance of coniferous and deciduous trees. I used transects as my sampling strategy, with five replicates, each 50 meters in length. The starting points for the transects were positioned at distances of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 meters from the wetland.
Replicates Sampled
I conducted five replicates to ensure a robust dataset:
- Transect 1: 10 meters from the wetland
- Transect 2: 20 meters from the wetland
- Transect 3: 30 meters from the wetland
- Transect 4: 40 meters from the wetland
- Transect 5: 50 meters from the wetland
During each transect, I recorded the counts of coniferous and deciduous trees.
