The main difficulty I found was accurately defining my boundary as the partial sun area and full sun area are right next to each other. This took a couple of days of observation to define. The second difficulty was measuring the height of the plants from a consistent base. This was not east because the soil would change based on how much water it would get. I feared that this could create discrepancies in the data collection. What I found surprising was how little growth and blooming there was for the rose plants under no sunlight. So far, there have been almost zero blooms. Another surprise was that there were black spots on the petals of the roses in the full-shade area. This was something I was not expecting. As of now, I do plan to continue the same method for collecting data as the results show a clear trend.
