On May 1, 2024, I conducted my initial field sampling using just one transect at Haines Forest. I make the mistake of not recording the coordinates for each replicate on my data sheet. I recorded the number per species observed at each 1m2 quadrant, every five meters along the transect.
I was surprised to find out that some species were in both shallow and deeper soils.
I will move my study to a new location due to challenges with access. For the sample design, I plan to do four transects each set up 10 meters apart from the top to the toe of the slope. Also, I will include more information on the location of each plot.
