My Data Graphs

Because both my independent and dependent variables are continuous, I created a scatterplot to represent my data. It was a simple process, however, the resulting graph revealed that there was the opposite relationship to what I had hypothesized, as well as showing the correlation being extremely weak. I felt that, although disappointing to a degree, this gives me the opportunity to expand on the mechanism at play and revise my hypothesis in my discussion. In the second figure I made, I decided to separate the manipulated variables into categories to discern some kind of pattern. This yielded interesting results that may give insight into why the ground plants are distributed in this way. Both graphs were produced using the same data, and yet the way they are organized allows for different levels and directions of analysis.
