For my data collection, I used three transect lines to sample systematically for bumblebee flower colour preferences, additionally, weather conditions were collected each day for comparison.
Observations were conducted between 1000 and 1315 hours on June 6, 2024, and again on June 13, 2024, between 1500 and 1830 hours. Each transect was observed for 60 minutes, and observations were repeated on two different days to account for variability in bumblebee activity and flower availability.
I recorded the number of bumblebee visits to each flower colour during each observation period. Visits were defined as any contact between a bumblebee and a flower, including landing and probing.
