Data Collection

For my I sampled 30 replicates at each elevation (low, mid and high). I randomly selected the placement of 10 quadrats along each transect, and had 3 transects per elevation. In total, 90 replicates were sampled along 9 transects. I was originally having problems sampling my quadrats at even distances from each other along my transects which is why I decide to switch to random selection of quadrats. I have noticed patterns that seem to support my hypothesis where it seems like there are more species in mid elevations, as well as plant density, however there is no clear difference between low and mid elevations. There were a lot of plant species and individuals in the low elevations, more than I originally expected to see. Its clear that the environmental conditions at low and mid elevations are more similar than I originally anticipated, which could partially rejects my hypothesis.
