The theoretical basis of my research project centers on understanding how human activity influences squirrel species density. My hypothesis predicts that squirrel density will increase with increasing levels of human activity. This touches on habitat selection and resource availability where squirrels may choose areas that are closer to areas that where humans gather in the park due to food sources willingly or unknowingly provided by humans. Three keywords that best describe my research is: resource availability, habitat selection and squirrel density.
