Observation

I have chosen Assiniboine Park as my study location. The coordinates for my location are 49°51’46″N, 97°14’40″W. This park comes under Manitoba, and is situated in Winnipeg. This is almost 450 hectares in size and was established in 1904 and opened in 1909.  It has a large urban green space with a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees and features open grassy areas, scattered tree stands, and minimal snow cover t this time of the year.

Picture was taken December 8th, 2024 from three different locations of the same park as it is quite big and I wanted to cover majority of it.

Potential questions for asking:

  1. how do environmental conditions such as temperature and snow coverage influence foraging efficiency in Black-capped Chickadees?
  2. what is the relationship between group size and vocalization frequency during interactions?
  3. does presence of minimal human activity influence the behaviour patterns of Chickadees?
