The strategy i chose was random sampling. The data collection did cause some difficulties which were:
- Black-capped Chickadee are highly mobile and forage actively which made tracking the group challenging and especially when the group moved between different types of trees. This required an extra effort from my side to confirm whether the individuals are the same as the group or no.
- To observe the group interaction and behaviour, I also had to ficus on them for extended period of time, making it a bit challenging.
The data i collected was a little surprising because of the cold whether, I did not expect chickadees to be vocal and active but they were and even their resilience in low temperature highlighted their adaptation to cold weather.
I can modify my approach a little bit by maybe increasing the sampling time so that I can have better coverage. I can also divide the areas in distinct zones which will make it a bit easier for me to observe the habits according to particular zones and compare them.
