Day: 28-04-2023, Time:1450 MST
Located in Banff National Park, Alberta. 51.16619°N, 115.56649°W area is ~2km^2. Clear skies, sunny, 14℃ and 34% humidity. Early spring.
The area is flat and grassy. Beside the grassy area, there is a small creek. On the opposite side of the stream, there is a small forested area. In front of the grassy area is a fairly used road with a speed limit of 30km/hour. Across from the road are two houses.
The vegetation is mainly two different kinds of large coniferous trees, lots of diverse knee-high greenery, and river weeds.
Potential research topics:
-How are the squirrels impacting their surrounding environments through their feeding and nesting habits?
– how animal activity is affected by the litter and human waste disposed of in the area?
– why does specific vegetation grow in different areas of the creek?

Animal activity:
It sounds like a good spot and I like your field journal! How bit is your area, you mention human waste but don’t give a sense of how much / how common this is. Your post could use a few more details like that to give a sense of your study site though overall a good post and a good start to thinking about your project. As you work through the next few modules you will start to think through the different questions and which ones might work as a study for this course.
