initial Observations of Rennie Park TX

The Rennie Nottingham Park is a dog park in my neighborhood. It has a lot of oak trees that line the walkway. A big field in the middle where soccer games take place as well a sandpit for beach volleyball and a children’s play park. It shares a fence with a kindergartens and a couple tennis courts.

West Half Length = 313 m
East Half Length = 326 m

Location: Rennie park, Katy TX United States

3 questions that are interesting or striking and could form the subject of the research project:

-Why are these little yellow plants only on one side of the walking trail? Specifically o the north side of the trail vs the south.

-Why are their more of them underneath the oak trees?

-Why are they so close together

  1. Hi, welcome to the field project part of the course. I would work on identifying those flowers if you want to study them. Insects could be another good topic of study at a dog park. You will have to think about what your gradient is. You mention the north vs. south side of the path, but is there any topography or anything that makes a gradient along that north south direction? Are there natural areas nearby to form a gradient with the dog park?
