For my research, I had to consider a few factors and other variables along with sunlight being my explanatory variable.
- Cloudy days – There were a few days when the sky was cloudy almost all day. So those days had no effect on my samples because none of them were exposed to sunlight. However, when only a portion of a day was cloudy, the hour of sunlight received by my four samples was impacted. As a result, the cloudy environment was a confounding variable at times and not at others.
- Another variable for my samples was watering the flowers. I use to ensure that each of my samples receives an equal amount of water, so that water does not become a confounding variable in my samples.
- The third and final variable was human-animal interaction. Which was a confounding variable for my samples because they were out in the open, so squirrels, dogs, and even small children were attracted to them, along with other insects and animals.

okay interesting!
what are some theoretical perspectives, perhaps linked to other references, that came up during the study?
