My field data collection activities included sampling the vegetative diversity and the soil type in different areas of the selected region. In this case, I utilized simple random sampling, where I selected ten different sample regions randomly. I understand that validity is a very important thing for any research. In this case, I ensured that the research has ten sample regions to ensure that the study findings and I will be a true representation of the study population. I had one major problem when implementing my sampling design. In this case, the sampling areas were randomly distributed, and as a result, some of the regions were physically not well accessible. As a result,I spent a lot of time trying to collect the sample. Based on the research hypothesis, there is a close indication that the null hypothesis will hold because the soil composition and structure support a given vegetative diversity. I extrapolated these results to mean that the plants and animals are supported by the soil based on the soil’s nutrients, water-holding capacity, and temperature of the soil. However, further analysis needs to be conducted to understand and establish if the null hypothesis indeed holds or if it will be rejected in favor of the alternative hypothesis.
I am still not sure exactly where your study site is and what these 10 regions are. Also, I still don’t know what you are measuring in the soil. This information was also not in the small assignment #2 I just marked and so I don’t have a good sense of your study going into the later half of your study and that could be an issue when I mark your future assignments.
