So far, I have sampled 30 replicates.
After my first collection of samples, I decided it would be more time efficient to have another observer help me collect data. I decided to sample 50 replicates. I believe 50 replicates should be sufficient to provide a statistically significant comparison and accurate representation of my entire population.
Otherwise, I have not had any difficulty implementing my study design so far other than attempting to tackle time constraints especially during this time of year.
I also noticed some plants tend to prefer waterlogged soil in comparison to others however, despite this the overall pattern of more plant species in general being at higher capacities at areas of high-water accessibility to hold true.
50 replicates sounds like a lot! Don’t overdo it! 10-15 per category should be enough!
