In this post I will discuss sources of ecological information with reference to a journal article. This journal article is taken from the journal Estuaries and Coasts. The full citation, including a link to the article, is Seifert, R. E., & Moore, J. W. (2018). This journal article is an example of an academic peer-reviewed research material. This classification was reached on the basis of the following information included within the text; both authors represent the Earth to Ocean Research Group in Simon Fraser University confirming that this is an academic source, this is referenced in the footnotes of page 1206 and the first page of the journal article. They completed original research which included site selection, quantification of floodgate operations, fish sampling, and statistical analysis of the data. This is documented from page 1208 through to page 1211. Acknowledgements are provided on page 1220 prior to the references list. Acknowledgments identify one named reviewer plus two anonymous reviewers who provided feedback on drafts of the manuscript, indicating that this document was peer reviewed.
