For one of my sources of scientific information I have chosen G. Losapio’s article Contextualizing the ecology of plant–plant interactions and constructive networks (2023), in the AoB Plants journal (https://academic.oup.com/aobpla/article/15/4/plad035/7216532#supplementary-data). The article is academic peer-reviewed material. Losapio is an expert in ecology, having obtained his Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Zurich, and also having done postdoctoral research in ecology at numerous labs (https://sites.google.com/view/gianalbertolosapio/team). The article itself contains in-text citations and a bibliography. Although no referees are explicitly mentioned, as stated by AoB Plants, only peer-reviewed articles are published in the journal (https://academic.oup.com/aobpla/pages/Acceptance).
The journal website will usually tell you if it is peer-reviewed and the acknowledgement sections of papers will mention anonymous reviewers.
