The source I have chosen is a book called Understanding bird behavior: An illustrated guide to what birds do and why.
Tong, W., & Sheldon, B. C. (2020). Understanding bird behavior: An illustrated guide to what birds do and why. Princeton University Press.
Based on the tutorial on how to evaluate scientific sources the book is an academic peer-reviewed review material. The book has a bibliography and has been written by an expert in the field Dr Wenfei Tong a professor with a PhD Harvard in biology and the book was published by Princeton and Oxford which are reputable places. The book was forwarded by Ben C. Sheldon a head of department in the zoology program at Oxford. There are no in text citations however, it has all the other qualities including that it has been reviewed before publication which would lead me to believe it is a Peer reviewed academic source. It gives information on bird’s behaviors such as eating and mating but does not have a methods and results sections which would make it is review material. Therefore, it can be classified as a peer-revied academic review.
Books can be tricky, they are often not technically considered peer reviewed because while they may have been reviewed / edited by others, it is usually not an anonymous review as with journal articles. Also, if there are no citations that would kick you out of peer-review at the start.
