The area I chose to observe is the backyard of my house. There is flat grass in the middle, surrounded by flower beds in which there are different plants planted. There are two trees, a plum tree and an apple tree. It is surrounded by a fence on three sides, and the deck of the house is bordered on one side. The plants include a variety of flowers, vegetables, and fruits. There are also many shrubs grown around the garden. From my initial observation, there are many insects, and many birds drop by as there is a bird house as well. When I took the pictures, it was around noon, and the weather was really warm (about 25°C).

The questions I am considering are:
- Does the location and amount of sun exposure affect the growth of plants? I plan to observe three of our tomato plants as they are planted in different locations with different sun exposure. Sunflower plants have also been planted in two different locations that get different sun exposure.
- Depending on the location, if watered at the same time, does the soil stay moist in some areas more than the others?
- Are some insects seen more commonly around certain plants than others?
