Post 1: Observations

Edworthy Park is situated in Calgary, Alberta, on the southern bank of the Bow River. The park spans approximately 169 hectares, making it one of the larger parks within the city’s boundaries. The park features diverse topography, ranging from flat riverside areas to rolling hills. The terrain includes a section of the river’s floodplain and extends to higher elevations with scenic hilltops.

Vegetation: The park includes dense forested areas with a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees, open grasslands, and manicured spaces with ornamental trees and shrubs. There are also riparian zones adjacent to the river.

Designation: Edworthy Park is designated as a City Park and is a popular destination for recreational activities such as hiking, cycling, picnicking, and bird watching.

Visit Details
The site was visited on a sunny day from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Photos were taken at 1:33 p.m. The weather was pleasant with a temperature of around 22.7°C (temperature was averaged between 1pm and 2pm as to when the pictures were taken). The season was late spring, which means the park was lush with greenery, and many plants were in bloom.
